Plant Right.sSave Money.
It’s easy to save water and reduce your utility bills with simple planning or changes to your existing landscaping.
Choosing individual plants can be the most fun and rewarding part of designing your new landscape. However, the key to success is selecting the right plant for the right place in your landscape. We prefer to use native trees, flowers, shrubs and other plants that are adapted to the Southern California climate and site conditions to ensure success and save water.
Landscape to suit your lot.
We choose grass or plants that have low water requirements and will thrive in the Southern California climate. When designing your landscaping plan; we consider your site’s exact features, including sun and shade, dry and damp areas, plant size, and how you plan to use each section of your landscape . We also like to consider seeking advise from additional experts like Southern Palmetto Landscape: commercial landscaping companies
“Hydro-zone” your yard.
We group plants with similar moisture needs in the same or like areas; making it easier for them to get the water they need without overwatering. Plants must be separated from turf areas, which have different water requirements.
Save grass for functional areas.
Instead of planting turf on steep slopes or other hard-to-water spaces, we consider native ground cover, perimeter plants and mulch. We only plant grass in play zones and other areas where it will be used and enjoyed
Plant shade trees.
The shade they cast creates natural “air-conditioning,” lowering air and soil temperatures, and reducing soil moisture loss. Finally, they require less water. All of this helps reduce your monthly water use and bill.
Maintain your yard regularly.
A well-maintained yard requires less water. We provide monthly landscape management services to not only help reduce your water use, but also protect your investment – your home.
